2.25.11 Useful for nearly 15 years, now Recycled

We bought this container with rolled oats at a BJ's Wholesale Club in Massachusetts sometime either in 1996 or 97 and we've been using it since then to store lentils. I dropped it on the floor last week and it broke, so I had to finally recycle it. Nobody can say I'm not reusing and recycling! Now I just have to work on the reducing part. ;)

2.16.11 - I really, REALLY want this

I'm planning on write a long, link-filled post about hanging mobiles, but for now, I will just say that when I saw this at our local children's museum I knew that I desperately wanted one like it. I'm actually thinking of making one myself, with paint-chips, no less! (these things cost LOTS!)

Anyway... the photos are BAD (there's no good angle to photograph a mobile hanging way up in the ceiling!), but, trust me, it's a really cute mobile that would perfectly match my "rainbow room" (I'll post photos soon, promise!).

1.10.10 - Public Pay Phones/ Orelhão

"Big ear" - Orelhão, that's what public payphones are called in Brazil. The boys love to play with any they encounter.
Note: Yes, it's a Spanish company, Telefonica, that controls the public phones in the state of São Paulo.

3.31 - Welcome & Why I Love Him

I recently bought this for our front door, isn't it cute?

K bought these lovely baskets for toy storage in the basement. He hates shopping, but once in a while when we really need something, he goes and buys beautiful things like these -- that's why I love him :-)

My aunt is a completely self-taught painter. She painted these for my cousin's living room following her daughter's specifications. I'm planning on "ordering" several paintings too!
