I'm an avid photographer (mostly of my sons, flowers, gardens, landscapes, and things around the house) and I've been posting photos sporadically here since 2008. I'll keep on trying.

1.16.10 - Friends, Then and Now
These were taken today (by Kelvin):And this one fifteen years ago at my wedding (I cropped the photo for a scrapbook): I love my friends, even if we don't see each other as often as I'd like because they live in Brazil. I hadn't seen Ci, the friend in orange, for ten years when we finally got together again back in 2007! Su, the friend in black, lived here in the U.S. for four years and we had both of our children within a month and a few weeks of each other -- we have belly shots and photos of the babies together taken every month or two. She moved back to Brazil when our youngest boys were 7 and 8 months old. I still miss seeing them often. :-(

Ever since I started back in 2008, I've only been able to post a few months' worth of daily photos. I haven't given up on this blog yet, even though it's really not a "365 project" at all! ;)
If only I could post bigger photos on blogger, I'd be happier, but it's not really possible, so there you go...
I'm a Brazilian immigrant (used to say expatriate, have problems with this word now), living in the U.S. since 1996 with my husband and two sons (born in March 2002 and May 2004). I'm a mother, first and foremost, -- mamãe in my mother-tongue, hence the (e) of the blog title -- but after "ten years and two sons" I finally finished my Ph.D. in literature in 2008. After six years away from teaching (including a year home/cyber schooling my sons - 2009-10), I'm finally back in higher-education. I've been blogging here for eleven years, so welcome to my site and feel free to stay for a while and look around. Our lives are a roller coaster, never lacking in ups and downs! ;-)
